This landmark building, located at the corner of Cornelia and West 4th in the heart of the West Village, brings together three distinctive–and delicious!–concepts under one roof. About Tacos 1986 Tacos 1986 is a Tijuana Style Taqueria that makes the most delicious tacos in California. Based in Los Angeles with 8 operating locations across the city, it serves communities with one the most authentic bites in LA and has made its debut to NYC! About the Role: The Shift Supervisor is tasked with supporting hourly onsite restaurant operations at Tacos 1986. They focus their time working alongside and leading workflow traffic and ensuring that all service standards are being met at the highest level of excellence. Shift Supervisors are responsible for supporting and maintaining morale and culture in accordance with Tacos 1986, and One Cornelia Street guiding principles and values. Guest Engagement: Commit to passionate, intense, uncompromisingly humble hospitality and high-quality guest experience in Tacos 1986. Consistent execution of food, beverage, service, and hospitality that aligns with the brand. Participate in local marketing functions and events to promote brand recognition at the highest level of quality. Engage and interact in the guest experience by cultivating regulars. What You’ll Do: Arrive early. As a support for the hourly team, arriving on-time, ready to work ahead of clocking in is integral, as is: Consistent execution of food, beverage, service, and hospitality in alignment with One Cornelia standards Ensure consistent working environment (notifying manager when supply levels drop below pars, overseeing lights, music & tv displays, etc.) Situational awareness with customer and coworker interactions, including knowing when to escalate to Manager-on-duty Supporting organizing hourly staff’s mandatory breaks, including ensuring all stations have proper coverage Assist the GM and Tacos 1986 Manager in executing customer facing store operations during your shift. You will be an example, upholding restaurant and Department of Health policies as well as One Cornelia guidelines in leading with hospitality, integrity and respect: Lead cleanliness and organizational standards both behind the line and in the guest area, including assigning tasks to be completed & restocking during and and at the end of shift Regular checks of pars for all supplies on-and-off the line and alerting prep and managerial staff for proper restocking and consistent daily operation Be cross trained on all the different stations of Tacos 1986. Be an ambassador for the culture and commit to passionate, intense, uncompromisingly humble hospitality and high-quality guest experience in Tacos 198 Collaborate with the team to create and foster a positive, professional work environment Welcome customers with a great first impression. Responsible for cash handling. What we are looking for: 2 years of FOH / BOH experience with the willingness to learn Excellent knife skills Excellent hospitality Ability to follow directions Punctual, reliable, and on time Grace under pressure Guest focused Team player with great communication Ability to work on your feet for long periods of times
